About Cote d’Azur
Located on the French coast of the Mediterranean Sea, the French Riviera (Côte d’Azur) might not have the beaches of California or the cheap accommodations of Thailand, but it certainly has the glitz and glamour rivaled by few places on Earth.
One of the most famous resort areas in the world, it extends along the Mediterranean Sea west from Menton near the Italian border, including the cities and towns of Monaco, Nice, Antibes, and Cannes (home of the Cannes Film Festival). Other sources extend the Cote d’Azur further west to include Saint-Raphaël (Var); Sainte-Maxime; St. Tropez, Hyeres, Toulon and Cassis.
