Small Guide of the Tanned Cultural Life of Cote d’Azur
Whether we’re talking about music, film or dancing festivals, Cote d’Azur has plenty of things to offer all year long. Ticket prices in Cote d’Azur vary depending on what you want to see, but, given the glitzy ambience of this entire region, prepare yourself to spend quite a lot on becoming more cultured here.
Even if best known for posing, semi-nude starlets on the beach or on yachts, the much acclaimed Cannes Film Festival also has a proud history of insisting on upholding fine artistic standards in an industry which is more and more dominated by strict boc office considerations. The whole thing takes place at the Palais des Festivals, in Cannes.
If you’re not interested in such grand performances, but would still like to witness more discrete shows of let’s say, classical music in Cote d’Azur, we strongly recommend Théâtre Antibéa of Antibes where quality performances of musical plays often take place. Be warned that most of the Cote d’Azur theater plays will be in French, and only rarely in English.
Some of the best theatres in Cote d’Azur are in Nice, and we’re talking especially of those where what the French call “humour-café théâtre" takes place: Théâtre des Oiseaux, Théâtre le Village, Théâtre Téocali and Théâtre de l’Impasse. If you find yourself in Antibes, you can try the Café Théâtre La Scène Sur Mer.
All in all, the culture in Cote d’Azur is in full swing and you’re free to ride the wave.
